CODE OF VIRGINIA UNITS MAY CONVEY PROPERTY (§ 15.2-5148) Any unit, notwithstanding any contrary provision of law, may transfer jurisdiction over or lease, lend, grant or convey to an authority, upon the request of the authority and upon such terms and conditions to which the governing body and authority may agree, such real or personal property as may be necessary or desirable in connection with the acquisition, construction, improvement, operation or maintenance of a system by the authority, including public roads and other property already devoted to public use.
