CODE OF VIRGINIA

PENALTY FOR OFFICERS (§ 17.1-291)

Any officer failing to comply with the duties imposed upon him by the provisions
of this article shall forfeit to the Commonwealth not less than $ 25 nor more
than $ 500 for each such failure, such forfeiture to be enforced by the attorney
for the Commonwealth in the circuit court having criminal jurisdiction in his
city or county.
