The State Board of Education is authorized, subject to the approval of the Governor in writing first obtained, to convey upon such terms and conditions and for such consideration as it deems proper easements upon, over, across or under the property of any school or educational institution of which it serves as the governing body, to any political subdivision of this Commonwealth or to any public utility or public service company or to any cable television company for the purpose of erecting or maintaining power, telephone, cable television, water, sewer or gas lines and mains; provided, that any deed or other conveyance executed hereunder shall be in a form approved by the Attorney General; and provided, further, that any funds derived by the Board in consideration of the granting of any such easement shall be paid into the general fund of the state treasury.Any such grant heretofore made by the Board subject to the approval of the General Assembly, is hereby ratified and confirmed.
