CODE OF VIRGINIA

RELEASING AGENCY; FEES AND DEPOSITS (§ 3.2-6579)

A local governing body or releasing agency may charge and collect from the new
owner a fee or deposit before releasing a dog or cat for adoption to ensure
sterilization.
