CODE OF VIRGINIA POWERS OF COMMISSION (§ 38.2-614) A. The Commission shall have the power to examine and investigate the affairs of any insurance institution or agent doing business in this Commonwealth to determine whether the insurance institution or agent has been or is engaged in any conduct in violation of this chapter. B. The Commission shall have the power to examine and investigate the affairs of any insurance-support organization that acts on behalf of an insurance institution or agent and that either (i) transacts business in this Commonwealth, or (ii) transacts business outside this Commonwealth and has an effect on a person residing in this Commonwealth, in order to determine whether the insurance-support organization has been or is engaged in any conduct in violation of this chapter.
