INSPECTION OF ELECTRIC ILLUMINATION EQUIPMENT (§ 45.1-161.173)

All lamps, extension lights and permissible portable illumination such as cap
lamps and flashlights that are used for personal illumination underground shall
be inspected by an authorized person at least once per week, and more often if
necessary, to ensure safe operating conditions. Such equipment located at the
surface shall be inspected by an authorized person at least once per month, and
more often if necessary, to ensure safe operating conditions. Any defect found
shall be corrected.
