TEMPORARY EMERGENCY OPERATION (§ 46.2-2117)

In an emergency, the Department or its agents may, by letter, telegram, or other
means, authorize a vehicle to be operated in the Commonwealth without a proper
registration card or identification marker for not more than ten days.
