SHERIFFS TO BE KEEPERS OF JAILS (§ 53.1-116.2)

The sheriff of each county or city shall be the keeper of the jail thereof
unless that locality is a member of a jail or jail farm board or regional jail
authority, in which case the provisions of § 53.1-106 shall apply.
