CODE OF VIRGINIA ESCAPE OF PERSON IN CUSTODY PURSUANT TO DETAINER (§ 53.1-213) Any person who is in the custody of an officer of this Commonwealth pursuant to a detainer issued in accordance with this chapter and who escapes from such custody shall be guilty of a felony and punished by confinement in a state correctional facility for not less than one nor more than five years.
