CODE OF VIRGINIA PENALTIES (§ 55-79.103) Any person who willfully violates any provision of §§ 55-79.87, 55-79.88, 55-79.89, 55-79.90, 55-79.93, 55-79.94, 55-79.95, or any rule adopted under or order issued pursuant to § 55-79.98, or any person who willfully in an application for registration makes any untrue statement of a material fact or omits to state a material fact shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and may be fined not less than $ 1,000 or double the amount of gain from the transaction, whichever is the larger but not more than $ 50,000; or he may be imprisoned for not more than 6 months; or both, for each offense.
