means a statement created using available data to outline the potential impact of a criminal justice bill on racial and ethnic <span class=\"dictionary\">disparities<\/span> within the Commonwealth. <a id=\"paragraph-1333900\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/30-19.1_13\/#A\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"B\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">B.<\/span> At the request of the Chair of the House Committee for <span class=\"dictionary\">Courts<\/span> of Justice or the Chair of the Senate Committee for <span class=\"dictionary\">Courts<\/span> of Justice, the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission shall review and prepare a <span class=\"dictionary\">racial and ethnic impact statement<\/span> for a proposed criminal justice bill. <a id=\"paragraph-1333901\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/30-19.1_13\/#B\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">C.<\/span> The Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission shall forward copies of the <span class=\"dictionary\">racial and ethnic impact statement<\/span> prepared pursuant to subsection B to the patron of the bill and the Chair of the House Committee for <span class=\"dictionary\">Courts<\/span> of Justice or the Chair of the Senate Committee for <span class=\"dictionary\">Courts<\/span> of Justice, as appropriate. <a id=\"paragraph-1333902\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/30-19.1_13\/#C\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"D\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">D.<\/span> No more than three <span class=\"dictionary\">racial and ethnic impact statements<\/span> may be requested by the Chair of the House Committee for <span class=\"dictionary\">Courts<\/span> of Justice and no more than three <span class=\"dictionary\">racial and ethnic impact statements<\/span> may be requested by the Chair of the Senate Committee for <span class=\"dictionary\">Courts<\/span> of Justice for completion during a single regular session of the General Assembly. <a id=\"paragraph-1333903\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/30-19.1_13\/#D\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"E\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">E.<\/span> Upon the request of the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission, the Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme <span class=\"dictionary\">Court<\/span>, Virginia State Police, Virginia Criminal Sentencing Commission, Department of Corrections, and all other state agencies shall expeditiously provide necessary data and assistance for the preparation of <span class=\"dictionary\">racial and ethnic impact statements<\/span>. <a id=\"paragraph-1333904\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/30-19.1_13\/#E\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>","plain_text":"                                 CODE OF VIRGINIA\n\nRACIAL AND ETHNIC IMPACT STATEMENTS FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE LEGISLATION (\u00a7\n30-19.1:13)\n\nA. As used in this section:\n\t\t\t&#8220;Disparities&#8221; means the difference in criminal justice outcomes\nfor a racial or ethnic subgroup compared to their share of the state\npopulation.\t\t\t&#8220;Racial and ethnic impact statement&#8221; means a statement\ncreated using available data to outline the potential impact of a criminal\njustice bill on racial and ethnic disparities within the Commonwealth.\n\nB.
