This is Article 5 of the Code of Virginia, titled “Exhaust System.” It is part of Chapter 10 “Motor Vehicle and Equipment Safety”, which is part of Subtitle III “Operation”, which is part of Title 46.2 “Motor Vehicles”.

It’s comprised of the following 5 sections.

§ 46.2-1047	Muffler cutout, etc., illegal
§ 46.2-1048	Pollution control systems or devices
§ 46.2-1049	Exhaust system in good working order
§ 46.2-1050	Mufflers on motorcycles
§ 46.2-1051	Local ordinances; vehicle exhaust
